Khao Indra is a low hill on the east bank of the Yom river, northeast of Si
Satchanalai town. This temple was built on top of the hill.
The important historic constructions in this temple are: a main chedi,
a vihara, the outer walls of which were beautifully decorated with designs in
stucco similar to those of Wat Nang Phaya, and the foundations of an uposatha.
Blocks of laterite were used to construct buildings. The name Wat Khao Indra
was also mentioned in the Pongsawadarn Nua, or the Northern Historic Chronicle.
